Who is Van Helsing in Dracula?
Abraham Van Helsing is a Dutch doctor and professor from Amsterdam, and Dr. Seward's old teacher. He is the one who works out what is happening and leads the hunt for Dracula.
Seward writes to him when Lucy falls ill and nobody can explain it. He is brought in as an expert on rare diseases, and is the first to suspect the real cause.
“my old friend and master, Professor Van Helsing, of Amsterdam, who knows as much about obscure diseases as any one in the world”
