Who is Estella's real father in Great Expectations?
Estella's real father is Abel Magwitch, the same convict who has secretly paid for Pip's education. Neither of them knows it for most of the book.
Pip pieces it together late on, from what Herbert passes on of Magwitch's past. Her mother turns out to be Molly, Mr. Jaggers's housekeeper, and Jaggers placed the child with Miss Havisham.
“And the man we have in hiding down the river, is Estella's Father.”
